The Benefits of Daily Rituals

There is no clear-cut way for creating and maintaining the best daily rituals.  Everyone has different ways of doing things because we have various personalities and quirks.  Usually we like to try things out before we find what works best for us.  When you find your best rituals – for example, when you can stick with the healthy habit of maintaining your daily Solve ritual – it makes other rituals much easier to develop.

Here are a couple suggestions about how to implement ritual into our daily lives – about making a conscious effort every day to improve those places where we spend the most of our time in-home or workplace.  Try picking up some fresh flowers for your desk at work, or play light music during your morning ritual to ease into the day or light candles as you unwind before going to bed.  By making small and simple changes, you remind yourself that you are worth that time and attention.

If, like most people, you are up and about for 16 hours on an average day, the first eight hours and the second eight hours are usually completely different.  So consider having morning goals and evening goals so you don’t get sidetracked.    Try setting a morning intention (a goal) and an evening intention (a goal) – some people have productive mornings and relaxing evenings, or vice versa.  Adopt the mindset of separating them in your head and fit your Solve puzzle ritual in either or both.

Consistency is key!  You may need to practice being mindful in order to carve out the time to choose one or two practices and integrate them into your day – make one of those your daily Solve puzzle ritual.  Stepping into your Solve daily ritual allows you to temporarily disengage from the world spinning around you – and allows you the opportunity to focus on the puzzles.

Our rituals also help us pull ourselves together when we have tough days!  Maybe some of your daily rituals are creating a to-do list, prioritizing your tasks, setting a time for focused work, allowing time for exercise or rest.  A routine – or ritual – is important to help you get things done when your mind is busy with other things.

Your daily Solve puzzle ritual is just one daily practice that you can add to your day and customize where it fits best for you.
